For this issue “Treatment of the Month” we decided to go a different route and tried new technology in gel nails called Gelish.

The gels apply like polish, with twist cap & applicator, but are cured in a lamp like gels. The gels come in an array of colors, and cure in a UV lamp in 30 seconds*. Gelish stays on nails for three weeks with no chipping or peeling, and soak completely off in only 10-15 minutes.

The steps for applying Gelish are very simple
1. It starts with sanitizing and pushing back cuticles. Then the professional wipes nails with Hand and Nail harmony Cleanser using a lint-free wipes. Hand and Nail Harmony PH Bond is applied on the nails
2. Gelish Foundation Gel is applied in a thin application and the edges of the nail are sealed.
3. The hand is placed in the LED light for 10 seconds or 1 minute in a UV light.
4. The residue is lightly removed from the nail with a clean gel brush
5. Gelish color of choice is applied in a thin application from cuticle to free edge. Be sure to seal the edges of the nail.
6. Then the hand is placed again in LED light for 30 seconds or 2 minutes in a UV lamp. For darker coverage you should repeat steps 5 and 6.
7. Gelish Top it Off Top Coat Sealer is applied from cuticle to free edge using a light application.
8. The hand is placed in LED light for 30 seconds or 2 minutes in a UV light.
9. The Tacky layer is wiped off with Hand and Nail Harmony Cleanser.
10. Nourish Cuticle Oil is applied and massage of the fingers is performed.

It is also very easy to remove Gelish from the nail.
1. The professional roughs up the surface with a nail file.
2. Soak off Gel Removal is applied on a cotton ball. This cotton ball is placed on the nail and covered with a small piece of aluminum foil for 10 minutes
3. After 10 minutes the polish is removed and Harmony Nourish is applied on the cuticle to keep it nourished.
Review:
We liked the product as it gives the alternative to gel nails. It is easy to put it on and take it off. For those busy women out there who do not have the time to get their nails done every week, Gelish is the perfect alternative for them. Our nail polished stayed on for 20 days and then we took it off. We would recommend this product to all nail salons and have it as a separate service. There are a lot of women out there who do not want to get gel or acrylic nails but they want their nails to look perfect. This is a very good alternative.
